Abstract

Wound casualties are encountered very often in various situations including combat scenario. All these wounds need to be healed rapidly and efficiently to bring back the injured individual to an optimum level of fitness so that he can get back to his normal work schedule. So far, many strategies have been developed across the globe. But there is a no infallible solution available that can overcome the various complexities in wound healing and its management. Hence, there is a need to develop suitable technologies that could solve wound related complexities. An ideal intervention for wound care must involve components that act the different steps in the process of natural wound healing. An ideal intervention should possess blood-clotting, anti-microbial, growth promoting and analgesic properties. The present review briefly discusses the current understanding and future prospect of wound healing.
