The system used in Malaysia is a supplementary irrigation in order to supply the water to the crops, cool the soil and the plants, leach excess salt and also improve groundwater storage. Irrigation system consist of several components such as sources of water, water pump, the piping or the delivery system, the nozzle or sprinkler, the controller or timer and the sensor. The controller and sensor is optional in an irrigation system and always found in more advanced irrigation system. The irrigation system chosen is taking the groundwater as a water resource. Fertigation originates from the words of fertilizer and irrigation. Fertigation system is a application the fertilizer for the plants. Fertigation generally consist of water tank, water pump, filter, valve, controller such as timer, chemical injector and piping consists of main line and sub-main line. Moisture of soil is very important element to maintain water table for plant water uptake. The tensiometer (irrometer) is used in measuring soil moisture status by measuring the pressure of water flowing out from the porous ceramic tip to the soil in unit centibars (cb) or kilopascals (kPa). This method will help farmers or researchers to gather information about irrigation in order to improve crop development and yield. They are installed in the ground with the tips placed at root depths. The drier the soil, the higher reading would be obtained.
